I have 215-40s mounted on 16 in. Borbets.  I have Neuspeed lowering springs and Bilstein Sports.  Even with these I had to shave metal off of the rear fenders.  The fronts weren't a problem, but the backs were rubbing when I hit dips in the road.  With 17 in. rims, you may have to shave the fenders on the front too, not sure.  You will definitely have to shave metal from the rear fender lips though.
