RE: Bose

I have had the same problem in mu pathfinder. MY theory is condensation on
the CD's due to the difference in air and player temperature. I think warm
air entering the player can cause condensation on the laser/CD and hence the
skipping. Once the laser, CD and player reach a steady temp the problem
should go away. But that is just a working theory right now...

Speaking of stereos, does anyone else have the aftermarket, plugin CD
changer from Panasonic? I bought mine from Autotoys.com, and it has worked
like a charm ever since, until recently. When cold (around -5 or so in the
mornings), it skips a lot, and actually the stereo itself cuts out a bit if
I turn the volume knob. Usually when the car warms up some, it's okay, but
the skipping really annoys me. I did the installation myself (much better
job than the factory jobs that mount it to the floor, IMO) and I was
wondering if anyone had any ideas why it would skip in cold only. Maybe a
bad connection or something? So I'm curious if anyone else has had similar
problems.

About the 8 vs. 10 speaker deal, I thought it was only 8 until I had reason
to take off the grill on the dashboard, and indeed, there are two speakers
under each grill. But honestly, I couldn't come up with a better sounding
system for the music I listen to, so in the end, who really cares if it's 8
or 10? Sounds great!
