It SUCKS big time!
I talked to a guy in a traffic shool the other day, and he told me that he had a few pullovers for tinted windows.
He pleaded 'not guilty' and went to court, then he showed a picture of his car to the judge (with the front windows down) and claimed that there are not tinted. :) seems like good idea.....

yeah, definately check the laws there, i have just regular tint on my windows 
and already have gotten two tickets, illinois sucks with that!  Good luck!
