RE: tire size question

205/40-16	22.46"
205/45-16	23.26"
205/50-16	24.07"
Stock		23.07"

Going to a 205/45-16 will be closest to stock. If your car is lowered at
all, I would not suggest the 205/50-16. I have no experience with that size,
but a friend of mine put 215/45-17's on a lowered GTI (overall diam 24.62"),
and he got rubbing everywhere.

I would suggest you also look at a 215/45-16 tire if you want a more comfy
ride.
