Re: V1?

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a V1? Radar detector? If so, I just
installed one in that exact spot last week. I soldered a couple wires into
the right size plug I got from Radio Shack, and tapped into the switched
12V line on the sunroof. Pretty easy install, as long as you know which
wires are the right ones. If you have a schematic, it's real easy, if not,
I can tell you which are the right ones. It's pretty cool, definitely
beats the adaptor cord I had hanging down to the cigarette lighter
previously, especially since the lighter isn't switched, so I always had to
unplug it when I stopped the car. It's a little bit of a stealthy install,
and works very well. I've only had it for a few weeks, and it's already
paid for itself several times over.

Subject: V1?

I was thinking about getting a V1 and mounting it above the rear-view
mirror and somehow neatly tapping into power somewhere up there. Has
anyone done this on our cars? (A3 GLX)

Thanks,
