Synthetic ?

One way to go about it is to go with one of the better synthetics, like
NEO or Amsoil or Torko because the idea of Synthetics is to have a
longer drain interval. That would mean feeling safe at a factory
recommended oil change interval of 10,000 miles. Yes, you are safe
changing every 3,000 miles with Petroleum, but if Petroleum were Pot, it
would be stems and seeds and shake and the trick thing about Synthetic
is its lubricity because it has a (smooth) synthetic base. Castrol has
Synthetics in their R (castor) series oils and I'm going to try one of
those next oil change. I think that one trick setup for a VR6 would be
Amsoil synthetic Marine Oil and for any manual VW, Red Line MTL90. NEO
and Amsoil have real good ATF.
