looking into a GTI VR6

Went to the local VW dealer, McDonald, and asked when they were to get the
new 1.8T GTI in and he had no idea. So I begin to look around with him and
he shows me a 96 GTI VR6, black, cloth. 40,000 miles for $14,000. Now my
question is, is this a good price for this? I want to try and get him down
to $12k. I'm picking it up tonight and taking it till tomorrow or Saturday.
Any suggestions?
