Re: Engine light on me Jetta

My '96 apparently has a slow responding O2 sensor. The light just came on
again yesterday after having been cleared three days ago. Not funny. $70 and
it's back. It had been a full 13 months since it had last appeared. Been
coming on intermittently since I bought the car two years ago. Usually mine
extinguishes itself every two hundred miles or so. If you decide you like
the little amber demon looking at you from the dash, it's still a good idea
every now and then to go get the codes pulled - something different from
what you're used to could be wrong (like when my plug wires were going bad).

my check engine light has been on for years, from what i gathre it is very
common; one possible reason that i have heard of is a dirty throttle body
that only takes some cleaning to fix
