It should be noted the price below is for the clutch, pressure plate,
and throwout bearing (along with a couple of other minor parts (well 
the alignment tool isn't minor, but it isn't expensive either)).

Based on this, I'd expect that clutch replacement will cost you
$750 (not $500)...maybe more  (ouch!)
