HUrm.  Did you filter cartridge say "MANN" on one end?  That's who makes
the one my mechanic puts in.  And it's only $18.00CDN.  WHich, in my
mind, is not that much.  I've discovered that as soon as you put the VR6
in a VW, everything becomes unique, and 3x as expensive.  Oh, well, you
pay to play.

the filter cover: doesn't it have a 40mm nut on it?  (i know mine has
the nut, i'm just not sure the size of it).

And yeah, the drain is nice.  I was watching my mechanic take the cap
off, and told him "you may want to drain that first".  Being
french-canadian, he blew me off.  Oh, well.  So he gets boiling oil on
his hands.  Not my lookout.  Heh.  He'll do it next time, though.  :)
