I have the same gap in there. I didn't notice if it was there before I changed
the springs/struts either. My tops dont move though when I turn the wheel.
When I jack the car up and let the wheel hang free, the space closes up
between the upper insulator and the strut tower. Is this normal....??? FWIW, I
get NO noise at all!! <knocking on wood feverishly!> :-)
