Haven't read that one, but try reading the article
in Road & Track, they compared it with a new
civic coupe, and got favorable reviews...Read
that one, it was favorable.
Also a couple of months ago a European 
magazine reviewed about 10 hatches that are 
sold in the us and european markets(all of the
versions were european) The VW came in like
2nd, also Autoweek had a favorable article on
the new GTI VR6
