I'm looking to do this myself, just haven't found a willing Golf hood donor
yet.

Simple. Remove hoses, remove nozzles (you kinda have to tilt them a bit to
pull them out), remove ground strap, unbolt hood. Unplug wires too if you
have the heated versions.
