RE: Engine codes

There are readers available -- VAG (the official VW tool for $$$$$), and
Carcomp (http://www.carcomp.com) for your engine codes. Whether you can do
anything about it or not depends on your mechanical experience. Since you
have a '98, you should be under warranty and your dealer should take care of
it (though it may take several dealers and customer service representatives
depending on the quality of dealerships in your area). Even if its
frustrating, make sure you have a paper trail at the dealership to show
problems that occurred during the warranty period.

Plase excuse my lack of experience.
I have '98 Jetta GLX and my engine check light comes up very often too, I
wonder how you can read those error codes you listed. Do you have anykind of
reader or something?
If so please tell me where to get it and approxymately how much mula it
cost.
Thanks a lot.
