I would bet it's your alternator. Take it in ASAP to either a dealer 
or a good German auto repair shop, and have them look at it. Either 
that, or tack on the cost of the tow truck when your car dies on you.

In fact, the dealer may even cover it under warranty, if you explain 
to them that the problem may have begun shortly around the 40,000km 
mark.
