Car hit...Daily Thought

Hi all, chris collier here,

Well the only fireworks that I saw this 4th of July, were the ones going
off in my head when I went out this morning to find that someone had
backed into the side of my car. Of course, there was no note, go figure.
I know that they were aware of the fact that they hit me, I could see
where they took the time to scrub off remains of paint from their
bumper. I could see where they had left marks in the dust on my
car........

After I cooled down for a while, actually a looonnnggg while, I started
thinking.............here is my thought for the day!

Have we as a society come to the point that accountability has died? I
am not basing this on just the fact of my car being hit, and no one
having the decency to leave a note, but rather on the fact of many
things that I notice in my life as of late.

I don't mean to be melodramatic, but I am starting to loose faith in our
society as a whole. It seems to me that there a still great people left,
but we are becoming more of the minority. Does anyone else feel this
way? The streets seem to carry more litter. People seem more angry.
Driving is becoming more and more defensive. People seem to have lost
respect for their fellow man. I only say this, b/c I don't remember it
always being this way..........am I delusional?

Yeah, I am pissed that no one left a note!!!! That can be fixed,
inconvenient, but it can be fixed. I am more pissed about what it
represents as a whole, IMHO: It represents a lose of respect for fellow
human beings, and their property. It shows that rather than own up to
the fact of a mistake, and that is all that it is, a mistake (that is
why we call them accidents); but rather than address it like a mature
being. They looked around, tried to hide the evidence, and slithered
aware. That is the concerning part to the equation. (IS IT HOT IN HERE,
OR AM I GETTING WORKED UP.....AGAIN?)

Thanks for the sounding board, needed a forum to vent.

And please, please remember: if you should ever damage any property,
even a door ding, please leave a note.................you will respect
yourselves more, and the rest of us will be able to regain our belief
that, for the most part, our society is STILL kind at heart.
