Matt,

     You say the light is orange and has 3 dashes on both sides and is next 
to the "brake" light?  It sounds like you're talking about the brake-pad 
wear indicator (for the front pads).  How many mi.'s do you have on your 
car?  My light came on at about 45k mi.
