Re: The VW Jetta GLX Mailing List Digest V3 #322

	Ola...

If you're in any kind of winterish location, don't go with all-season
tires. Go with a good winter rated performance tire. My personal fav
are the Pirelli W210A's. Rated for 210kph (130mph?), and quiet, too.

Oh, and they cut through slush/snow, wet crap/wet, cold crap/wet, cold,
and iced underneath crap with ease, and still maintaining your control.

I've got steel winter wheels for mine, which makes a difference when
cutting through snow, as well.

Your best bet is to get a good summer set, and a good winter set of
tires.

Subject: All-Season Tires

I'm looking at putting High Performance All-Season Tires on my
GLX, using the stock wheels. I've narrowed the tires down to:

Toyo FZ4's $119/tire
Dunlop SP 5000's $109/tire
Pirelli 7000SS's $129/tire

Prices from Town Fair Tire are above, and include mounting, balancing,
etc... Any suggestions/preferences by the group? I'm leaning towards
the Dunlops, but have always heard good things about the Toyo's. Thanks
in advance.
