The BMW 323i is a 2.5 liter straight six. The 323i nomenclature is a
holdover from the early '80s when the original 323i was a very
impressive E21 Three series. It should be called a 325i!

Unfortunately the current GTI/Jetta GLX is a superior car in comparison
(and I'm also a BMW nut!). I have to concur with the posters that you
are making a mistake. Too much money for not as much car!! This is
solely my opinion.
