Looking to remove Helmholtz Resonator...

Well, I've technically already have a modified airbox in that I removed the
mesh pre filter filter, as my car is regularly garaged. There was almost
nothing of any consequence after driving the car for 20,000 miles (probably
due more in part to my garaging of the car-- there are plenty of leaves
here in the Northwest).

Anyhow, the next step for me is to remove the Helmholtz cone, as it looks
like it may be restricting air flow for a nominal decrease in sound output
at high RPM's anyway.

Now, I'm already familiar with the internals, and I have to admit I've
already taken a look at the resonator cone, and I have to say IT LOOKS LIKE
IT IS ONE PIECE-- that is, connected to the airbox cover.

If it's NOT, how do you remove it? How do you remove it without damaging
anything, and with the ability to replace it if necessary? I don't want any
permanent damage done to the cover, I just want a simple easy way of
removing the resonator.

Any suggestions?
