Bora VR8 sighted!

Hey all,

Did anyone see the photo of the Bora VR8 doing testing in Germany?  It was in an auto industry trade magazine.

The caption says:

"Souped-up Bora
With the Bora VR8, Volkswagen apparently plans to put the heat on the AMG-tuned Mercedes-Benz C43 and the BMW M3.  The Bora is the European version of the Jetta.  This unauthorized photo shows a prototype of a high performance, all-wheel-drive Bora undergoing testing at the Nuerburgring racetrack in Germany.  The car is expected to get VW's new eight-cylinder VR8 engine, either the 3.7-liter that makes 270 hp or a 4.2-liter that makes 300 hp.  The Bora VR8 likely will be unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show in September and launched next spring."

The picture seems to have different headlamps, front fascia, and a huge rear wing, not to mention the full roll cage inside this car.  It looks race ready!  Watch out BMW & M-B.  This could be a new Jetta GLX!
