Why don't you try sending a copy of your letter to vw? I would figure that if the company knows that a significant number of people like racing Volkswagons then maybe they would help. Do they support any kind of racing in Europe? I've heard that the VW group is going to start an F1 team in a couple of years, but they're going through the Audi name.
