Patrick, There are electronic controls in the dome light assembly. I have
seen this before. Usually replacement of the dome light assembly is
necessary. 

Before changing the light I am sure you have checked each door switch to
make sure they are not broken internally. Also I am sure you don't have the
switch in the map position.
