Tiptronic, borrowed from Porsche a year or so back... now available on the
VW Passat, Audi A4, A6 and A8. It's basically an automatic that lets you
shift by pushing the shifter up or down, sorta like the Chrysler AutoStick or
whatever they call it. The problem for enthusiasts: it's still an automatic,
and A4 tuners don't recommand you going over stage II or ~220 horses. 

As for the one comment in regards to the A4: "Fat & Slow" ... the 1.8T
is certainly not fat (3100 with Quattro), and if you line up a GLX or 
GTI (chipped) and an A4 1.8TQ (chipped)... The A4 will be faster than you.
Most chipped A4s will easily run head to head with BMW 328s. I don't
mean to bash you or anyone, but that "Fat & Slow" comment was uncalled for.
