Thanks for the plug, Wally! I have come up with a cold air induction setup
on my car that gives the best of both worlds- pflow growl, with a steady
flow of cold air, and probably a slight ram-effect at high speeds. The
problem with hot air sitting in the airbox is eliminated; as soon as the car
begins moving, cool air is forced in to the box. I probably spent a total
of $10 for the mod, including the parts to relocate the carbon canister. I
have recycled some of the parts from the factory airbox, and the install is
very clean, as Wally will attest. I have never had any water problems, even
driving for 3 hrs in a horrific downpour at 75 mph. I tried switching back
to a pflow for comparison, but this airbox setup wins hands down. A pflow
made the car quicker at the dragstrip over the stock airbox, because the box
just can't get enough air through the tiny factory inlet- no matter what
anyone says, it just chokes at high revs. But one run down the strip
produces enough heat in the pflow to slow you by a few tenths on the next
run! My quickest drag run to date was made with my modified airbox. Anyone
who wants more details, feel free to email me privately, and yes, Wally,
we'll set your car up at the next gathering!

Later,
Greg
