YES this is TRUE!

not nessessarily, they do lose power.

Yes.

Exactly.


Don't be so quick to spend $200.00 on a mod that will lose 5 horsepower.
The engineers spent a great deal of time and money getting the stock airbox
to get a good cold charge of air (ducted from the fender, far away from
engine heat), with good flow and low noise.  The only reason to go with a
p-flo or other open element is for the sound, not the power (sound is loud
but cool).
