Cone Filters

Hey everyone,

     Autotech's catalog says that replacing the air box with a cone filter draws in hot air and also makes the filter susceptible to getting soaked by water when it rains.  Is this true?  If this were true, wouldn't everyone be killing their cars by removing the airbox? Also, would a Neuspeed P-Flow have these problems?  Isn't that essentially replacing the air box with a cone filter?
