Duh!  Good question.  Can't believe I left out details.

The wind noise is in the "clean" mode AKA no rack.  (shit, I never use the
rack...the bike is pretty cool).

The car has been quiet for 9 months then, BANG (thanks ddp), I have wind
noise.

The car is always garaged...but was in a recent ice storm (not sure if
there is any correlation).
