Intermitten wiper relay.

This topic has been beaten up pretty good,but here is some info. I had to
replace a intermitten relay in a 97 GLX yesterday because the wipers came
on intermittenly. The replacement relay 1HM 955 531 A was the older style
programmable type. The number on top was 99. According to the wiring book
it could also be 19. The newer non programmable had the number 196 on top.

If you are on good terms with your dealer you might try to pull a fast one.
Tell them you were driving and the wipers came on by themselves. You did
some diag work and if you wiggled the relay they would stop. If the dealer
is nice they should believe you and replace the relay./ If they are
scumbags they won't. If someone came to me  I would believe them and
replace the relay. Intermitten electrical problems are very hard to duplicate.
