THat's a NICE pedal :)

I think some steel wool, followed by some Mother's aluminum polish (Pep
boys), or some Flitz (hardware store) should give it a mirror shine. 
Keep in mind raw aluminum tarnishes easy, so you might be in for some
repeat polishing every once in awhile.  Do you have any pics of the dead
pedal?  I did want one awhile back, but I forgot about it for some
time.  THe VW dead pedal is great-  the one on my old mustang was so
pathetic (about 1.5"X3") that I bought one within a week of getting that
car.
