Keyless entry on '97

Hey all,

I'm looking into installing keyless entry on a '97 Golf Trek (my fiance's).
Anybody have any experience in installing just a keyless entry kit?  How about
somebody who has installed an aftermarket alarm that controls the keyless
entry?

My main concerns are cost and ease of installation (I'm looking more for the
keyless feature than the alarm features).
