Re: Oil Filters



I believe that the '96-up cars use the filters with the black
fiber/carbon/plastic end caps. I think older ones used the same filter with
metal(?) end caps. Basically it's a cylindrical pleated fiber filter with a
hole down the middle. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but
the dude at the parts counter wanted me to make sure I had the right type
when I installed the new one.

The one I bought from the local dealer and the one I took out of my car from
the last dealer oil channge were OEM filters made by Hengst. Are all the OEM
VR6 filters by Hengst?

What's a Euro Switch?
