Sorry to hear about all the trouble with the car but, all vw's are not like
that.  Dating back to 1988 with my jetta gli my vw repairs have been
minimal.  No major work done except I had to get a new condenser for my ac.
I am happy to say that I had to change a couple of motor mounts.(WORKED
16v).
