Coolant question

I remember a while back it was mentioned there were 2 types of coolant 
being used in VW's. One type was bad because it was corrosive to the 
aluminum. I looked at the coolant I have and it was a dark blue/green 
color. The fill tank says "G11" on it. 

Could someone refresh me on what the good coolant is called and what it 
looks like?
