Hey Patrick...

   I use Mobil 1 15w/50.  I just switched to this.  I was using 10w/30, but
was consuming a lot of oil.  My car is tight, and I don't know where the oil
was going, but since the switch and about 700 miles I haven't burned a drop...
I live in the northeast, but am going to run this oil year round...

  as a note, my brother has a 88' M3, and was burning oil like me until he
also switched to 15w/50.  His car calls for this weight in the owners manual.
Now he burns a quart between changes...   I can't find what the vr6 calls for,
but if your car burns any oil, I would go with the 15w/50....
