Just insist on a professional polish as part of the deal and you should be
fine.  My other car is black and when I bought it used, I insisted on this
(it was pretty badly swirled).  Came back looking just peachy.  The problem
with black is that it only looks great either a) soaking wet or b) just
waxed.

But when it does, it looks great!
