Door courtesy lights

I think I asked this a long time ago, but I might as well try again.  I
need something small to do to my car while waiting for my Hellas to come
in.

The older Jettas had cool little lights on the bottom of the front doors
- -- they serve no purpose, I guess, but I think they would be a neat(?)
thing to have.  So the question is, has anyone done this?  I have
reflectors in the right spot, I just need to know how to wire the lights
exactly.  Glancing at the Bentley, it seems that there should be a wire
between  a connector and the door switch.  I just need someone who is
"electrically inclined" to tell me what to do.
