Todd et. al.,

The chip that I purchased came from Techtonics, and allegedly
was a Garrett production. I did the chip swap just to see if
these miraculous claims of performance boosts were true. After
many street runs with both the factory and TT chips, I found that my
gains on 0-60 MPH were under 0.1 seconds. The real shocker was
that 1500-3000 RPM in fifth gear was over a second *slower*
with the TT chip! I could almost dismiss the 0.1 second gain as
too small to measure, but I can go out right now and repeat the
fifth gear test for anyone that wants to see it for themselves.

I ran the TT chip at one of our club's play days (test/tune),
and 1500-3000 RPM in second gear is the sweet spot for autocross.
I was so short on power in second that I muscled first gear around the
course bouncing off the high rev limiter. I also ran it at one
out of region event last year where second gear was mandatory,
and was two seconds slower than normal. The lord works in
mysterious ways sometimes, but the message he sent about cheating
was very clear when I finished last in class that day.

That was the last time that the factory chip was out of the computer.
The only time that the TT chip will go back into the computer
is when I anticipate needing to drive over 130 MPH. The factory
chip is better in every other regard.....
