    Well, I just had a neuspeed short shifter installed in my '97 glx.
It is like night and day when compared to the stock shifter.With the
stock shifter, the second to third shift was always the easiest to miss
or grind. This is the gear change I really noticed the superiority of
the short shifter. As a comparison, it's a slightly shorter throw than
an integra gs.
    On the flip side, the installation of the shifter, which I was told
could be done by myself in my driveway, was a hoax. You really need to
have the car on a lift. It took my mechanic 4 hours to complete. He made
repeated comments about the innordinate length of time it took him to
complete.

The grand total in cost:

Shifter $350.00
Labor $180.00
Total $530.00

The main point is that it really does make a drastic change for the
better over stock. If anyone has had a short shifter put into their glx
I'd like to hear of your experiences with it.
