But keep one thing in mind, the a4 platform uses a significantly taller tire.  Some
wheels may fit both chassis but you'll need a taller tire.

New Jetta 195/65R-15 on a 6x15 wheel, a 5" profile
Total tire/wheel height = ~ 25"

JettaIII 195/60HR-14 on a 6" x 14" wheel, 4.5" profile
Total tire/wheel height = ~23"

GTI/GLX 205/50R-15 on a 6.5x15 wheel, a 4" profile
Total tire/wheel height = ~23"

Here's the formula:
New Jetta> ((195mm X 65%)/25.4mm) X 2 + 15" = ~25"
