Re: mail order companies

well, I ordered some carrera coil overs from them, they told me that my 17x8 wheels will fit with the coil overs if "I cut the spacer and push the shock body all the way towards the middle of the car". This didn't sound to good , but like a dummy, I did it any way. BUT guess what, the shocks still rub! so I called carrera to get instructions on how to fix the problem. Carrera told me that they should have never sold me those coil overs knowing that the wheels were 17x8 because they plain and simple will not fit!! So call martin back at abd and they will refund me all my money. Cool, so I call abd and let them know what is happening, and they basically tell me that it is not in their policy to give me my cash back. I am kinda stuck with them, and we have 18x8 rims on one of our cars and it does not rub, so you must have had them installed wrong. Well the shocks did not rub on regular street driving, only when I autocross..and they have never autocrossed their car w/ the 18x8 on it, so they do not know it rubs then.
my good friend brought a big bore for his car and it kept hitting the strut bar. He went down to abd and had a guy come out and look at his car before he brought it and they said "sure it will fit".. but you know what, it does not fit unless you do not mind some clinking under your hood. I have some other friends that have them and if you don't mind shaving the intake or your strut bar, then go ahead and get it. I have learned not to buy some things that you have to shave and cut to make it fit.
