Stereo Removal Tool

I'm trying to remove the receiver from my 98 GLX so I can put in a
Blaupunkt unit. My stereo is the "VW Premiun" system that the more
recent 98s come with. It requires a special tool, not a normal DIN tool.
The receiver has two very narrow slots on either side of it, so narrow
that a thin ignition points file wouldn't fit in them. The VW dealer
will not sell me one; said if they sold them to the public, it would
increase radio theft. I doubt it, but what do I know? The dealer offered
to remove the receiver for me, but I prefer to swap the systems out on
my own schedule. 

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these forbidden tools? Or, has
anyone figured out how to remove the radio without the tool?

I tried Timmons and Crutchfield, but they don't carry them.
