cone filter again

  a couple days ago I asked if a cone filter is a good mod for the
money, and wether it would mess with the warranty or lease.
   someone said that they just put a 3.5 inch k&n cone right off the
factory tube, where the air box connects.  
   I have a question for you if your arround.  I did just what you said,
and added a 3.5 cone.  my question is.  What did you do with the smaller
1 inch tube that used to connect to the air filter box?  I would imagine
that this tube should be connected to filtered air, since it was before?
  the sound of the cone really is awesome, i just want to get everything
squared away before i leave it on.
