Observation: St. Louis WOB

I've just realized that St. Louis has alot of VW's running around town, 
particularly A3's.  and a large amount of VR6's as well.  i've been to 
dallas, san antonio, chicago, all over ohio and parts of alabama and didn't 
really see any VW's.  i was wondering is the midwest the home of VW's? 
 plus my dealer says they have an 40 or so new Beetles on order, 18 of them 
have deposits on them already.
