VR6 trans. fluid change

     Hello everyone.
        I plan on changing my manual transmition oil on my VR6.  Here is 
     what I know, I want to here any warnings or tips that you can offer.
     
     I have:
     1. a funnell with a longe hose on it for filling, I plan on going from 
     the top by the battery down to the top of the transmition.
     
     2. 17mm hex socket 3/8" drive
     
     3. 2 quarts of RedLine MT90 fluid
     
     
     Here are my questions.
     
     1. does the transmition need to be warm, ie. oil heated?
     2. do I want to lift a side of the car higher off the ground to 
     improve drainage?
     3. should I remove the top (filler) plug before the bottom for better 
     drainage?
     4.  Can this oil be recycled with my motor oil, ie. can I use the same 
     catch pan etc.?
     5. do I need to do a flush of the old oil before adding the new?
     
     I don't have a Bentley manual for a guide so is there anything else I 
     should be aware of?
