upgrades

anybody,

        i am interested in getting upgrades for my '97 Jetta GLX and i am
looking at the P-Chips and P-Flo kits from Neuspeed.  here is the question,
what exactly does the p-chip do, and what exactly does the p-flo kit do?  i
have heard people that it increases engine performace, but i have no idea
how.  also, how hard is it to install these?  
        and one more thing, i once heard someone refer to something as a
hp-kit, what is that and what exactly does it do??
