Huh, no accelerate? Hold the "Set" button in for more than a second
and it accelerates. I think this is stated pretty clearly in the
owner's manual. (I think we got a seperate sheet for the cruise
feature). I do miss the coast, but it gets you in the habit of
getting ready to brake when you slow down. (What is the purpose of
reducing your speed?)

I've found the cruise control on my '97 to be the most feature-deprived I've
seen. It is limited to on-off, set, and resume. No "coast" option. Only
works manually as you described. I really miss the "accelerate" feature
from my truck. I also seem to remember my '89 GLi having more options on
the cruise control.
