Re: Suspension Setup Suggestions

I've never even been in a 16v GLi so I couldn't tell you. The
bilstein's are better products but for the ride quaility NOT for
raceibility. The adjustible Koni's or the SPAX are better for race,
the bilstein's are better for the aplication you are talking about.
You wouldn't be dissapointed with the Boge either, but the Blistein's
will definitely have a better feel. As far as Sports vs. HD in the
VR6 aplication, their damping is identical, the only difference is the
amount of travel, the Sports are designed for a lowering application,
and the HD's for only slight modification (ie. NS Softsport springs
     that only lower 0-0.25inches.

Thanks for the reply. I was (still am) thinking of going with NS lowering sprin
gs
with either Boge or Bilstein shocks. I have been going back and forth between t
he
two as I have heard good things about both setups. I guess I just need to drive
 a
car with each setup, but, since I can't -- at least not right now -- can you (or
anyone) compare the two with say, a 16v GLI's suspension?

Also, I realize that Bilsteins are *generally* considered better products, but f
or
someone who does not plan on racing (much?), does lots of highway driving, and
drives mostly for fun otherwise, are the Bilsteins worth the extra cash? Before
, I
was assuming that the Bilsteins were going to be stiffer than the Boges. I gues
s I
was wrong. One more thing -- were you talking about the HDs or the sports?

thanks again
