I believe that red, white, and black are the NON-metalic colors. Generally the SOLID colors are considered NON-metallic. Clear coat finish seems to be an industry standard these days, reguardless of the metallic/non-metallic issue. The clearcoat simply protects the finish. - -Steve Mercer
