Being an avid mountain biker and skier, I had to put a roof rack on my GLX.
In fact I think it looks Vrsexier! The Thule racks definitely fit better, but
I opted for a Yakima because they are less likely to be stolen, our other car
has the Yakima and I did not want to invest in all the attachments as they do
not fit each others. Instead of using the markings on the roof I set my rack
a little further to the front. You will definitely need a fairing to cut down
the wind noise and help maintain a decent gas mileage. With my Mt Bike on top
there is definitely a noticeable drop in my gas mileage. I have mounted the
racj and would never think of taking it off as it was quite a bitch to get it
set properly (although I must thank my fiance who did all the work)
The car looks hot!
Good luck.

Hi.
Have any of you had your GLX a while before adding carrier bars? I ask
because I'm wondering if the bars add a noticeable amount of wind noise
when the sunroof is open or even when it's closed when the car is driven at
higher speeds.
And apart from people picking on you to help them move things, are there
any other negatives associated with the bars that I should know about? It's
not as if I need them or anything. It's just that GLX's can look so sexy
with them. :->
Thanks very much.
